We worked in our groups in which we focused on multitasking. Since we had to gather data for our presentations, we prioritized to send the survey to the year 7 director for qualification. In order for our idea to work for all students, we thought it would be better to send a survey to the whole grade, to obtain diverse answers, so we made sure that was finished. However, it would be wasting for 4 people to edit one form with only a few questions, so we decided to choose duties. Some will work on searching the images that fit our presentation, and I worked on creating the models in which the designs can become 3D. For that, I used an app called Sketchup to build a miniature replica of the 2nd floor of the North building. By becoming able to use these tools, I think we can create a visualizing, and accurate presentation.

Research shows that Sketchup used to cost 400$, but Google reformed the price so that people who don’t have the money to buy this tool can download it for free, including a majority of the tools that the 400$ version had. Sketchup is mainly used for architectural design because once you download Sketchup, you can use 3 apps. The first one includes the building supplies and tools, while the others are about floor planning. I was made acquainted with Sketchup back in 4th grade on a website called diy.org. It is really simple to use, and you only need a couple of tools to create any building you dream of. This means that anyone can build their dream home during elementary school, whilst making the measurements precise. A merit of using this application is that it is compatible with any style, and still is accurate with it. When we create an architectural design, it would be obvious to draw it on a blueprint. In design class, we are building a speaker, in which we draw the design on paper. Perhaps it would have been easier to understand the final product if we can visualize the model through Sketchup, but I think traditional methods should be taught as well so that they are flexible with tasks from a variety of architectural companies. Furthermore, it will encourage users to reach their creativity, because of its easy accessibility to other's creations. Though copyrighting is unacceptable, Sketchup offers a source where you can download other's designs by searching it. This shows how it is so much efficient to handle a digital app.

The internet connection went smooth today, so we were able to cooperate effectively. We are planning on sending the survey sometime in a few days, and also to work on our presentations. Drawing on a piece of paper will work better for some people because hand motion is directly connected to your brain, and there is a simplicity in it that encourages people to explore their style. Sketchup, on the other hand, will take more time and will be harder to teach. However, once you get the hang of it, it will help with drawing in terms of accuracy. From this, I've learned the importance of selection based on an objective and would like to keep this lesson for future use.
