Since today was a short period, Mr. Paterson decided to postpone the presentations for next week. Our group was still unfinished at that time, so it was a savior to add more time. During this, we decided to work on understanding the parts of the presentation that we will explain, as well as looking through the website since the infographic was missing. From this, I was able to understand the importance of checking with a group, because they can contribute to sharing new ideas, as well as help critique them.
During the preparation of our presentations last semester, we worked on our assigned slides individually, which meant that we didn't prioritize double-checking to see if the fonts and the sizes were the same. If we hadn't checked as a group and decided on these aspects, it would look nonunified and therefore wouldn't be appealing as a company. With that in mind, we decided to work on our website. The color scheme that we chose was pink and purple since it matches our logo, and because the presentation had a similar scheme as well. However, we chose the color of the logo before researching anything about color, so we decided to research color relating to emotions not only to know what our website color portrays to visitors but to collect evidential proof for our ideas since color is one aspect of the design that we chose.
The data that we included were from the survey results that we collected. Although any form of data is evidence as long as it is not tweaked, there are levels of trustworthiness towards them. Data collected by professors are more likely to be utilized than one conducted by a group of teenagers with no degree at all. Results from browsing show how our scheme purple and pink gives off a calm yet powerful image which is what we needed since we wanted our ideas to be as memorable as possible but not to the point that it relates to anger. However, we were lucky to choose a theme that we aimed at creating which means if I would repeat this project from the start, I would want to have a clear image of whether or not color is prominent.
Our group didn't progress far during the first few classes, but I was glad we were able to gather and finish all other resources that we were tasked with. For the next class, I would like to work on prepping my part of the presentation, as well as the finishing touches for the infographic and the design of the website itself, since the website is displayed differently when opened on devices with different screen dimensions.
