Today, we worked on our slides, our essays, the whole shebang. Although both were incomplete at that time, I prioritized on the slides. It was especially hard to try and present my analysis in a clear and understandable fashion. Though I had channeled my thoughts into two big opinions, it made it difficult to summarize in slide format, so I had used up most of my time there. There is of course the essay that was still 15% in plagiarism, but I planned on trimming the entire essay itself, thus reducing the percentage as well. Through a couple read-throughs, I had noticed that I had too much evidence, disregarding the fact that 90% of my essay had to be opinion-based. I would either have to tweak the quotes and not include information that is merely only copied or to delete the information and thereby add my own biases, which may not be accurate and feeble in evidence. However, since it is a book review and not a logical essay like we did in the second year, I had decided to sacrifice some of my dedication towards adding proof.

Yet again, did I feel regret towards not knowing, that google slides had a working animation tool with a variety of options. When I was in 4th grade, the only animation features this system was compatible with were the slide transitions, although I hated how slow they moved, and how they were restrictive, so I hadn't touched their animation gadgets until now. I now see how google allows animations on images that you've imported onto the slides. Not only that, but you are also able to adjust the speed, timing, and order of how the animations are to be presented. I was baffled at how easy it was to animate, well, other than the fact that the normal speed for each image is a 1-second delay, so adjusting it on time was always a challenge. Powerpoint and Prezi were good tools in the past that enabled cool animations. I had also seen Keynote and their tricks, so I'm finally happy that google improved its game in this area as well.

All that time working on one single book review. I know it's only been 2~3 months working on it, but I still feel grateful for the work that I've successfully turned in on time. Reading the book, researching about it, and developing my opinions towards it as an academic journey, was very enjoyable. I'm hoping to write more about books since there is so much that I would like to showcase. Anyhow, now, I can start concentrating on wrapping up my presentations.

While searching for photos that fit my presentation theme, I was met with a problem of how limited the supply is. This is where I appreciated the fact that I understood the copyright restrictions on each photo because it helped me reach closer to the desired effect quickly. Because of the types of copyright laws, we learned in class, as well as other English and non-English classes, I was able to identify and differentiate uses that I can edit the photo. For educational purposes, I wanted all my photos to be grainy, monotoned, and eerie, relating to the atmosphere of the book itself. I had been taught that some restrictions allow photos to be manipulated, so I made sure that the works I used were fair use before applying the filters. Because of that, I could create slides with more efficiency, unlike taking the long route of fishing through multiple media. 3.3.2022 - Thank you for the 3 years!!!! (2019~2022)

 Today's topic was the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia. When we were first asked to talk with our groups on this topic, I was excited because I had watched a video about this last week. From what I recall, this video on the crisis was more pro-Ukraine, so I was able to gain a neutral view by listening to Paterson's explanation on how this war is understandable. The video I watched discussed how the ways Russia is reasoning the war is unacceptable. A statement Russia has been saying is about how Ukraine belongs to Russia. This is true, saying that Ukraine was a part of the Soviet Union, and how Crimea is culturally Russia's. However, it also coined how during Stalin's governing of the Soviet Union, millions of Ukrainians died in a deliberate famine caused by Stalin himself. This was to replace the small farms with their state farms. So even if a big portion of the Ukrainian population has Russian roots and can speak Russian fluently, we have to consider that there...

Today we did a discussion about “War made Easy”, and learned about net neutrality. Through the discussion, we were surprised at how the president could spread such exaggeration through the media just to support the war. Personally, I think this related strongly to the “War is a Racket”. Here Butler presented the close bonds in which the government and companies have through the profit made during wars. War requires mass production of military resources such as artillery, uniforms, and jets. These are commissioned by the government towards private businesses which in turn creates abundant profit. As such, despite war incurring suffering from soldiers, it usually benefits corporations the most. Although the documentary didn’t talk war's ludicrously in its role in capitalism, it surely addressed how governments can deceive the people into validifying war.
